Ridiculous Popular Political Notions Of Pakistani Society

(It is a list of ridiculous popular political beliefs and notions of illeterate and semi-literate Pakistani society. This list will frequently be updated).


  • Almost each Pakistani believes that 9/11 was a conspiracy of Israel and/or US to create an excuse to attack Afghanistan.
  • Shahbaz Sharif attempted to return to Pakistan in may 2004. It was a popular belief that President Gen. Musharraf had a deal with him and he has requested Shahbaz Sharif to resume the responsibilities of government, as Musharraf has concluded that he is not able to bear these responsibilities. (May 2004)
  • Chief Justice of Pakistan was restored by Supreme Court, after President Gen Musharraf suspended him in March 2007. It was said that the Chief Justice is restored after a deal with Musharraf. The time proved that he was not resorted through any deal. (2007)
  • After 2008 general elections PPP formed federal government in Pakistan. According to an agreement between Zardari and Nawaz Sharif, the government had to restore Chief Justice Iftikhar Chaudhry and other SC judges. Zardari did not fulfill the promise and did not restore the Chief Justice. Nawaz Sharif constantly demanded the restoration. It was a popular notion that Nawaz Sharif himself does not want restoration of Judiciary. He is playing smart with Zardari and just gaining political benefit through his political game. But later on the Long March of Nawaz Sharif to restore the judiciary proved that Nawaz Sharif was not playing political game with Zardari, he really wanted the restoration of judiciary. (2009)
  • There was a lot of suicidal bombing in Pakistan in 2009. People concluded that Zardari’s government is behind this terrorism, as Zardari wants to get more and more foreign aid in the name of fight against terrorism. (2009)
  • People also concluded that US private military organisation Black Water is behind this terrorism. (2009)
  • Nawaz Sharif adopted a policy of not creating confrontation against ruling party. The reason being that such confrontations always seduced the generals to impose martial laws. So he always criticized the government on wrong policies, but did not create problems for it. On this people claimed that there was a secret deal between Nawaz Sharif and Zardari, according to which each one of them was allowing the other to complete his term and plunder the country as much as he could. After the next general elections, they would switch their positions, and the other party would plunder the country. (2009)

    Adding to what you said for notion about Black water,We really cant be sure of the limit to which American conspiracy can go and it is very much possible that in order to justify intrusion in Kahoota,Law and order situation has been delibrately brought down to this level.Please note that it is highly unlikely that people who are fighting against a highly skillful and resourceful Army are not getting any foreign support.When we consider Indian and Israeli involvement(against muslim nukes!)than Americans cant stay indifferent either and organisation like "Black water " can act as cover for underground CIA activities(why would any American civilian come to Pakistan in these circumstances?).

"Amar Shonar Bangla" is a marvellous song written by Tagore in 1906, when the British government divided Bengal in two parts, as per their policy of "divide and rule".
